Unexcelled thinner of oil based paints & varnishes. Used extensively by artists as a painting medium, oil paint thinner and brush wash. Cleanup solvent. Clear colourless liquid with a pleasant aniseed fragrance.
Gum Turpentine Common Uses
- Solvent used in production of polishes, lacquers, waxes, medicines, perfumes & fragrant chemical compounds.
- Used as a solvent mixed with beeswax or with carnauba wax, to make fine furniture wax for use as a protective coating over oiled wood finishes (e.g. lemon oil).
- Used to dissolve natural resins.
